Ive never experienced any of this

I only ever experienced bad ads when I checked the site on mobile, and it was a nuisance.
Basically the same user experience as using a shit-tier public bittorrent site.
Even the most basic DNS filtering took care of it, let alone adblockers - but there was exactly zero insentive for anyone to allow the ads on the wiki or to click on them to make the site a fraction of a cent of ad revenue.
