i don't know why in the US literature is separated from the language studies. it would make much more sense both in academic research and possible job opportunities (i.e english teacher since literature is part of curriculum)
The only degrees worth pursuing are science, technology, engineering, mathematics, economics, law, and teaching. Everything else should be removed IMO.

ah yes, because we definitely don't need people studying foreign languages, preserving history and recovering lost knowledge. we only need bare minimum of specialists that will sustain our lifestyle and occasionally discover some new gadget that we can entertain ourselves with
