It's been a few months since I last visited, I'm up in Sacramento now. The only difference I've noticed is that SF (and the Peninsula) is far more crowded than I remember. I guess I just never noticed it when I lived down there (think of the "boiled frog" analogy)

* losing weight truly is a matter of calories in and calories out. That said, losing those calories depends on factors like medication and genetics where the body has a harder time burning up calories. However, anyone truly claiming "it's genetics" are just lazy because they're using that concept as a crutch; they can't ALL have genetics-related issues.
* blood pressure is simply a matter of your kidneys pumping extra fluid into your blood stream in order to (among other things) thin out the amount of sodium within it. You can reduce your blood pressure using medication, or by simply eating less sodium. Too much blood pressure means extra stress on the heart and your veins. But if you remove the fluid but NOT the sodium, then that extra sodium can have corrosive effects on your body.

* it is perfectly acceptable to not like a certain group of people... the key matter, however, is how you treat them in public and in person: as long as you treat them in public with respect, equality and equity, then most people won't mind if you think the Jews are personally out to get you to wear your sweater when you go out ("It's cold out there, do you WANT to get sick?") and that the gays are trying to convert you to using iPhone instead of Android.
* don't think rubbing alcohol as an alternative to normal alcohol; first of all it's not the right kind of "alcohol", but also, beer is cheap enough such that if you can't afford beer, then you sure as hell can't afford the ambulance ride after you take a shot of rubbing alcohol.
