Doesn't sound too green and sounds pretty expensive. May I recommend concrete exterior 6-8 inches thick, reinforced rebar; retractable 1/4 steel exterior shutters; triple pane windows; then

Then your standard 2x4 interior. yes. That's actual aluminum foil.

Not only will you deflect any possible mind control transmissions, but you'll be really energy efficient. Oh yeah it costs a dollar or two. But less than billet alum house.

Tim. I am a machinist in the Pacific Northwest. With the current failure of Boeing, I should be able to pick up all the 7075 billet I need, PLUS a couple of really huge profile mills AND hire out of work American Society of Aerospace Engineers for a song! All those conventional construction methods... meh. So passé.
I think I want my house to look like an aluminum Big Block Ford
overhead cam 427, with about 3000 sq.ft. of floor space.

Fren, you should not put words in my mouth. I am not saying that tried-and -true boomer bomb shelter construction methods are ghey or unsound, I am just saying that with the overabundance of aerospace quality materials and workers here, the solid billet aluminum design is sorta green in its own way, wait, no that would be oxidized bronze. Well maybe I will consider bronze as an exterior treatment. I am just after something with a little MOAR panaché.

LOL. It will be funny if Seattle hires a white woman to take her place, matches Best's old salary, and gives her a 20% incentive pay signing bonus plus 10% raises throughout her career. That will really boil her bottom.
