Imagine doctors and researchers naysaying something just because a politician said he thought it helped and showed some evidence it did.
Ehhh its not a naysaying thing.
They tried one small trial of it after that fake study was published saying it helped.
N honestly it shouldve helped the cytokine storm.
But the study they tried was stopped halfway cuz alot of the participates died of the side effects of the drug. It causes intense intense unstable arrhythmias in the heart, i think it fucks with the electrical channels n prolongs the qtc i think....

I think that cuz covid pts were already at risk for crazy heart stuff the drug exacerbated the issue.

Theorectically it should have worked with immune suppression. On paper. Not so much.

There are so many factors to consider. To be honest, we don't know what works or doesn't. some say it only works before real symptoms set in or has to be taken with zinc etc., This think has only been here for five months.

Trials around the world were temporarily derailed when a study published in The Lancet claimed the drug increased fatalities and heart problems in some patients.

The results prompted the World Health Organization (WHO) and others to halt trials over safety concerns.

However, the Lancet subsequently retracted the study when it was found to have serious shortcomings and the WHO resumed its trials.

Other studies have looked at using the drugs as a preventative measure against Covid-19.

The Mahidol Oxford Tropical Medicine Research Unit (MORU) is conducting mass clinical trials and has enrolled 40,000 frontline workers in Europe, Africa, Asia and South America, giving participants either chloroquine, hydroxychloroquine or a placebo.

Professor Sir Nick White, who's leading the trial, said: "Most experts agree there is a much better chance of benefit in prevention than treatment."

Ehhhh gonna politely agree to disagree here.

I got swine flu years ago. Ive been exposed to the Hanta Virus. I was part of the Ebola care team at my hospital back east (we never saw a case tho).

This virus is the worst thing ive personally seen in the decade+ ive worked healthcare. It beats the shit out of ppls lungs, causes weird af immune responses n a whole host of blood hypercoagopathy shit (thickens n clots ur blood).
Idgaf im not gonna scream at ppl if they wanna gather for parties or not wear a mask, i cant live someones life for them or make their choices. Ppl need to live, make money n socialize. Its who we are as a species n how we survive.

But this shit is real. I dont want any of you spastic testicle tuggers to catch it.

Btw i hate this shutdown too my side gig doing lucha photography got shut down and all my hippy festivals n concerts got cancelled.
i didnt say it wasnt real, im not holohoaxing it. just saying its being over hyped for political agendas. cities getting hit hard should be taking proper health and policy procudures, but out here in the midwest where there's hardly anyone to begin with and the states and corps are treating it like the entire country has the black plague.

some days i find it sucks knowing about gates' shady shit, agenda 21/2030, the coudenhove-kalergi plan, id2020, the great reset, and all the other rabbit holes that'll give anyone a good dose of brainfuck.

Are those people with the disease already or people who may be exposed to the disease?
What kind of study, what kind of monitoring are they doing and what are outcomes theyre hoping for?

One thing we know works for pts on oxygen, Decadron. Its a cheap, easily produced steroid that helps mediate the inflammatory response (we use it for brain surgery pts to decrease swelling) and has been shown to decrease vent dependence and get you out of the icu quick.

That's the thing. The study didn't release all the data to the Lancet. And the Lancet is the publication largely responsible for killing the study.
No body knows and it's too early in the game. All what we have are "eureka" conclusion's, where someone desperately wants something to be connected and when there's a slightest connection, boom EUREKA!! THIS IS THE SOLUTION/CONNECTION. It's a common thing in psychology.

We're running around with our heads cut off.

Well yeah, i couldve told you that.
This is unlike anything weve ever faced. If something has a chance of working we take it

Eh.... Texas is a red state that would be die hard trumpers. Most of the ppl dying here are his voting base so its not huge conspiracy like Cuomo implies to kill off all the democrats.
It is shitty all supply chains still suck and i definitely think theres politics behind that. From both fucking parties. Republicans are fighting the dems about it. Dems are fighting the republicans. They all suck.

maybe its time to burn it all down and start from scratch in minecraft.

reminds me of the ongoing debate about the covid mutation. apparently the change of the protein spike from aspartic acid to glycine causes it to become more infections. however scientists are up in arms if this actually makes it more dangerous or not.

I guess it doesnt really matter since a fuckton on mooktards still insist on not taking common sense outbreak precautions.

Which is why it was confusing to shut down the chloroquine study without seriously looking at the factors. There is great value in saying it doesn't work or why it seemingly worked in specific instances.

The study was stopped cuz it was killing ppl if i recall so the risks outweighed any benefit.
@Raddy can a med head learn as much from why one rx fails as from why another rx succeeds? i mean in the case of actual professionals that give a shit about their jobs/patients and not just there for whatever greedy or egocentric reason
Heck yeah. It can help us understand so much even if it does fail, we learn just as much from our mistakes as our victories.
