horror movie recs thread 2.0

I just saw it... and I'm gonna give it a generous 6

The idea is ok, even if not particularly original, visually is pretty interesting and I love the fuckton of practical effects...

...but it must be one of the most tryhardy flicks I have seen in my life, the pace is horrible, it starts at 8 and then quickly escalates to 11 :D... the opposite to the great build up of, e.g. Hereditary

The actions of the characters are both predictable and absurd, one hour into it I was already completely jump scare/plot twist desensitized... in fact, reminded me quite a bit of The Void in that regard

i still haven't seen it to compare it yet lol
i do know the ending of last shift is cliche but i still liked the movie itself overall. i'm glad the visuals seem to still be good. i will watch the shittiest movie in the world if it still has good practical effects.
i have been meaning to sit and back to back them some night with popcorn n a notepad to compare, but tbh what would've been angus scrimm's 90th birthday was a week or so back n i have been rewatching phantasm.

Ohhh, what a blast from the past... those killer balls haunted me for a while as a kid... :D
as a brain cleanser rec after the edgy film, have you ever seen messiah of evil? very surrealist, n one of my favorite all time films
very lovecraftian/lynch-esque
would love to know your thoughts on it

There is no reason to use filthy language. It coarsens society and serves to heap disdain upon you as a human being.
in 2 years you're gonna be bitching about people using contractions
