Bessemer City Schools family mourns the loss of student
It is with deep regret that we announce the tragic loss of Jonesboro Elementary School student, Royta Giles Jr. (pronounced Roy-TAY Jyles). The young child was killed during a shooting this afternoon at the Riverchase Galleria Mall in Hoover.

School administrators have been speaking with the child’s family members and offer support as they grieve the sudden and difficult loss. “Our hearts are simply broken at the tragic loss of Royta. We are here for the family in every way possible, and we ask that everyone lifts the mother, family, and our school community in your prayers. This is tough,” says Bessemer City Schools superintendent, Dr. Autumm Jeter.

Royta Giles was heading to the 3rd grade this fall. Principal, Dr. Anjell Edwards, and staff describe him as a smart child, who was a jewel, with big dreams of someday entering the music industry. “He was bright, articulate, and very convincing. We even tried to convince him to become a lawyer,” says former assistant principal Mr. Van James.

The Fourth of July weekend is not over and Chicago has already endured 13 deaths, 54 injured, with nine minors hurt and 2 children killed in different shootings.

Police detailed the shooting, explaining that the girl was playing on a sidewalk about 7 p.m. in the 100 block of North Latrobe when three men got out of a white car and shot more than 20 rounds in the direction of the people holding the party.
The girl, identified by family and the Cook County medical examiner’s office as Natalie Wallace, was struck in the forehead, and a 32-year-old man was injured.

“Tonight, a 7-year-old girl in Austin joined a list of teenagers and children whose hopes and dreams were ended by the barrel of a gun. She could have grown up to be a pussy-slurping moron like me.” Mayor Lori Lightfoot said in a statement on Twitter.

ATLANTA - An 8-year-old girl is dead after a shooting in Atlanta on the Fourth of July, police confirmed.

Police told FOX 5 that the shooting happened Saturday night in the area near University Avenue and Pryor Road close to the Wendy's where Rayshard Brooks was shot in June.

Police identified the girl as Secoriea Turner in a Sunday press conference.

According to police, the child was riding in a car with her mother and an adult friend when they turned off the interstate onto University Avenue slightly before 10 p.m.

When the driver attempted to enter a parking lot on the 1200 block of Pryor Road, police say he was confronted by a group of armed individuals who had blocked the entrance.

A Calumet Heights man has been charged with the fatal shooting of a DePaul University student in West Rogers Park on the North Side.

Jahrod Jean, 21, faces a count of first-degree murder in the June 21 shooting of Gary Tinder, 20, in the 6200 block of North Troy Street, police said.

Jean was arrested about 1:50 p.m. Friday after being identified as the shooter, police said. He is due in bond court Sunday.

In an obituary published in DePaul’s student newspaper, The DePaulia, Tinder’s family and friends remembered him as a sharp, gentle person who was “good at everything” and “couldn’t hurt a fly.”

A GoFundMe that was organized to “take care of his family” had more than doubled its $10,000 goal as of Saturday evening.

BRENTWOOD, Tenn. (WTVF) — Brentwood police said they’re searching for three suspects wanted in a string of vehicle burglaries and garage break-ins after they crashed a stolen car on Franklin Road. A fourth suspect has since been arrested.

Police also asked residents to bring their pets inside while a K-9 officer helps search the area.

Peter Bruce said, “It’s a little concerning, and then of course like this morning my son usually walks our dog first thing, and we got the notice about the K9’s being out, and to bring your animals in.”

Bruce decided to stay home so he could look out for anything suspicious. “There’s a lot of places to hide that are concerning.”

During the search, one suspect identified by police as 24-year-old Depatrick Groves, was arrested on Williamsburg Road after trying to hitch a ride with a box truck driver. “It does makes you a little nervous."

As several residents woke up, they realized unlocked vehicles had been rummaged through. Police spent hours looking in sheds, tree houses, and vacant homes. One woman, who wants to be anonymous, said a suspect entered her garage through an unlocked door while she was home with her kids.

“Whenever you have children and this happens, it puts a lot of things into perspective, so yea it’s definitely stressful, my stomach’s very upset, my heart was racing for sure.”

During the day, many residents chose to shelter in place in their homes. Police wanted to remind them to lock their doors and vehicles.

“Just being here, and being by myself, I definitely know how to protect myself... but not against 3 or 4 men.”

The Brentwood Police Department is asking for any home surveillance video from neighbors. It’s believed the group is also connected to thefts and burglaries in the Nashville area.

It’s unclear if the 3 suspects on the run are still armed since several guns were ditched at the scene. If you see them, call 911.

24 hours later the nigger was loose and arrested again for firing shots near at a North Nashville police precinct.

Kelsey Grammer's daughter, Spencer, got cut up by a man who started swinging a knife in NYC -- all because the restaurant she was at was about to close and wouldn't let him in.

Law enforcement sources confirmed the scary incident went down late Friday night at a place called The Black Ant in the East Village -- which was about to close up shop right before midnight as some guy -- whom witnesses described to cops as seemingly drunk -- walked up and demanded entry ... only to be turned away by the staff.

We're told that sent the guy into a rage, because he whipped out a blade and started hacking away in a full-on brawl with guests and employees. During the mayhem, we're told Spencer and a friend of hers were 2 of the victims who got slashed as the man raged.
