I would imagine if Occupy Wall Street had happened in 2012 instead of 2011 there would have been a similar "adoption" of the movement by the Democrats back then. Complete with corporate sponsors (despite that being against the movement's best interests).
This is what they do. They co-opt movements already underway and try to make them party issues going into the election. Then ignore the issues raised until the next time they need a boost going into an election.
