@lurk you probably already played this, it's one of those games that attract the type of people that play stellaris. I don't know if I should recommend, it is addictive, and also, just like stellaris, feels like a long term project. It's supposed to be a colony simulator, some people call it "dwarf fortress lite", but it feels like playing that movie, "final destination". You got a group of people with deathwish that you're trying to keep from dying in most retarded ways possible

I had my addiction broken when I'd invested a couple hundred hours into a couple of linked colonies, just to find that the game broke such that I could suddenly not build certain objects necessary to keep my little psychopaths happy.
Reinstalled and repaired it, but then I found that the saves for my colony could no longer be opened, and after that I haven't touched it for as much as a minute. Great fun unless something breaks to fuck up your hundreds of hours of progression.

Yeah, great fun, especially when 3 mech clusters land one after another, and one has that EMI dynamo that renders your turrets useless. By "couple", you mean 2, or more? You should check, wouldn't be surprised that there are mods that address that issue.
Also, which version? Maybe that was already fixed by ludeon.

yup, i got it. ended up going crazy overboard with the mods, took like 5 mins just to get to the start screen. really liked the overhaul this mod did to the psionics system. Ludeon shouldve copied it.

Critical interior junk to keep the fucking royalty happy, and I had a lot of the fuckers infesting my colonies due to strategic alliances. Tried rolling back to earlier saves before repairing the install, no dice. Developer was like "Lol, just start again" and the saves did not carry over into a fresh install, even after pirating it and installing an older revision.
Maybe I'll give it a go later, but I'm still pissed over oodles of "cat herding" progress to progress to two stable colonies with ample production, protection and profitable trade routes being absolutely fucking fucked because I couldn't lay down the luxurious flooring and furnishings expected by my highest ranking colonists who would then go moody psychopath an lay waste to my colonies.

This is why I refuse "hosting royals" quests and quests that grant honor, unless I have ascetic colonists that don't give a fuck about clothing and accomodation and won't think that they are above menial labour . The worst are fuckers with "greedy" trait. But I don't use psycaster nobility much, mostly focus on brute force - genetically altered and cyber augmented super soldiers with "psychically deaf" gene. No psycasting, but no mental breaks from psychic drones, either.

I had several of my colonists promoted to grand poobah of this and that, some of the perks were pretty sweet. Diplomacy and trade certainly got boosted. If I ever get into it again I'm gonna go all cannibalistic cyber slave-lord and ban religion. The latter is nothing but a nuisance, into the slave-pits or soylent green production lines they go.

feels fucking weird that the xbox 360 is now nearly as old as the NES was when it came out
