That sucks man but I'm glad you didn't get ill despite the uncomfortable ride. Like I said a lot of these guys are sneaking psilocybin into mislabeled amanita products. My first exposure to amanitas was baby sitting a couple friends of mine who ate a grip of the raw mushrooms back in like '08. Bought some toobz. Allegedly these Sylvania 1964 vintage toobz are really good for the MT-602 headphone amp I found at a pawn shop to replace the Vali 2++.
No pics of the toobz themselves but the boxes, since they're currently living in the amp.

Sheeit. I mean I'm no audiophool, but fuck. These toobz are loud asf, I actually had to crank the volume DOWN from where it was set with the stock toobz. Like I threw the headphones off loud.
Did notice a difference: the stock tubes would start to get "foggy" with hard trance when too much was going on. The stock also did have a lot of "wierdness" with the lows, like a "wow-wow" effect. For instance, Garry Morrison - Hideaway is a nasty one for your amp.
This setup handles it cleanly.
These toobz just roar the synths during the chorus. The leadup is even worse: each fucking note is there and loud.
Fuck. Best $100 total I've spent.
