Why do people say nostalgia happens every 30 years?

it is very clearly based on the local band noise sound which probably peaked with This Heat in 79, then in 82 it found favor with the Chicago and Texas scene with Scratch Acid and Big Black, but eventually chilled out and became shitty boring Grunge

back in the 80s people were nostalgic for the 50s, they were just too busy providing food and education for their children to create entire circlejerk culture around it (although there were few people trying, billy joel for example)
going deeper into history, entire romanticism era in literature and art was one huge nostalgiafest for medieval thought as they revered middle ages as simpler times, before enlightenment came and destroyed everything with their rational thought and shit

so nostalgia isn't particularly new concept, but through the ages it was practices mostly by individual whiny suicidal faggots and not entire generation (fuck you millennials)

this but unironically

wait until you discover ted kaczyński and "industrial society and its future"
Yeah you wouldn't need to call people on the phone before the phone was invented, and you wouldn't need a car before the car was invented
These inventions changed the infastructure of society and community design which made them necessary rather than the conveniences that they originally were, just like guns made everyone use guns, but before that you didn't need them you'd use a sword
