update on the situation:
at the basspro i acquired this big beautiful lighthouse birdfeeder. it holds 3 pounds of feed n i would have to fill it less n also seaside theme is emotionally fulfilling to me

it has been up for 2 days now n i have not seen a single bird at it, possibly because unfamiliar feeder size
i am going to place it where one of the other feeders is n then move that one elsewhere. i'm sure the tree this one is on will thank me

updates on the situation later after resituation

Usually, this is because birds use sight and not smell to locate seeds and their mental maps haven't gone over to that place yet. I have two feeder locations, with one being added later and what the birds assess to be a more dangerous area and the seed lasts twice as long even though the two feeders are about 30 feet apart.

the birds figured out there was food in the lighthouse i aint movin' shit
blurry because i didn't want to bother them

That's impeckable timing. I just saw a mother and juvenile brown-headed cowbirds for the first time today on one of my feeders. The usual customers are a massive amount of chickadees and sparrows along with the neighborhood blue jays, cardinals, mourning doves and woodpeckers. We also get a starling invasion twice a year.

I'll find the video of the swarm if I can find it from last year.

Ok, found it but have to put it on Youtube because I'm having difficulty uploading it here.
