GOI Plays Cyberpunk 2077

I can't even bring myself to keep playing this shit. In closing:

It feels more like a standard FPS than an RPG and none of the perks are really worth it. Most of them are just percentage increases and other inane bullshit. The cyberware that actually changes up gameplay costs a ton of money and is level locked, requiring you to put time into the main story or stupid cookie cutter events like shooting up gang members.

Choice in this game appears to be mostly an illusion aside from a few key decisions. There are a lot of segments that are just standard shooter segments that I've come across, and there doesn't seem to be any real choice in how you deal with them. The dialog system is also shittier than the one in Fallout 4... most dialog options fall under only two categories: "Move The Story Along" and "Please Tell Me More".

The world is absolutely huge, but it feels very empty. The only real things of note are NCPD crimestopper events and gigs that fixers call you about. There are no random events and everything feels baked into the game... in other words, don't expect many surprises out in the world, because the game wasn't designed to allow for random shit to occur. They could have made this a linear game and ditched the open world completely, TBH.

The graphics are also worse than The Witcher 3 IMO. And weather never seems to really change in this game unless the mission's script calls for a change in the weather. I'm not even a fan of The Witcher 3 but I still feel like this game is significantly weaker than that game in many regards.

Thank you for your service. Still going to get it, because PC mods = god

You just wanna play as a tranny.

I managed to get enough eddies for some of the arm cyberware. I ended up trying the fucking rocket launcher arm... it's broken, and not exactly in the ways you'd expect. First off, it doesn't have ammo or a cooldown, so it's basically free grenades that you can keep spamming. The problem is that the thing has the most bizarre targeting that I have ever seen. Its almost like it tries to home in on random targets, but it doesn't give you any indication of what it's targeting. The result is an overpowered weapon that usually ends up locking onto random pedestrians and blowing them to pieces.

One small problem with all of this, however, is that the game gives you an instant wanted level for murdering pedestrians and spawns police in right behind you. End result is that you try attacking an enemy, accidentally kill an NPC and then got shot in the back by the cops who just teleported in behind you.

Also the game doesn't render explosions at a distance, so if you try firing the launcher at something more than 30 feet away you won't even know where it ended up hitting even though the game still plays the explosion SFX.

Actually, to ask a more serious question. How bad is Keanu in this game? I remember as early as advertising I wondered if his presence in the game would be this jarring aspect that pulls you out of scenes. Like you’re playing and then the game sorta just takes that moment with his presence to remind you “Hey! Check it out! We got John Wick in this thing!”

This is what Johnny Silverhand looked like in the source material:

In-game he just looks like Keanu Reeves.

He's also constantly popping up and having conversations with V, but because of the first person perspective it's impossible to know whether V is talking out loud or just thinking. It makes scenes with him feel like a mess of "Oh hey, it's Keanu Reeves as Johnny Silvercock! Too bad I don't give a fuck!" and "Is V talking out loud right now or not?"

I managed to reach max street cred (50) today. Character level was 22 at the time. The game is so perfectly balanced that all you need to do to max out street cred is to unleash the contagion daemon (which poisons and jumps from enemy to enemy) on every gang member you see and then punch them in the crotch to make sure that they're dead - they'll all give you 100+ street cred XP which adds up very quickly.

I'm guessing that the max level is also going to be 50, which means that it's not going to be possible to get all attributes maxed out. AFAIK there also isn't a way to redistribute your attribute points, meaning that you're going to be stuck with whatever shitty build you end up with. There is a way to reset your perk points, but that's pretty pointless considering that perk choices are directly tied to your attributes.

I'm guessing that they'll release DLC later on that will boost the level cap and possibly give you a way to redistribute your attribute points, but right now you're going to be locked into any build you make. The game also has a lot of fairly stupid skill checks for Body and Tech - meaning that you'll probably upgrade those stats at some point just to open a door or some shit.

Oh, and the game suffers from Elder Scrolls Syndrome. All the stats raise with use, and spamming some of those skills almost seems mandatory for leveling them up. At lower levels most skills raise really quick, but at higher levels they slow to a snail's pace. The two hacking skills seem like the easiest to level up since you can spam them constantly against enemies and vending machines.
