found a bunch of random tomato plants somebody had seeded years ago that, after tossing some spare fencing in the area n not mowing in the area out of laziness, i haven't watered, or weeded, and just looked over the other day thinking they were another pokeweed n then saw yellow flowers n realized what they are, are fucking flourishing
the gardening strat here is really to just throw seeds out after the last frost date n leave everything alone

Do you ever get large pests that persistently eat your plants? I've only ever seen deer and last year there was a groundhog or a gopher. (Video is semi-unrelated).

same time as last year smth was pickin' some chickens off i got some chickens picked off. benus (rip), misfit (rip), and venus (fuck you, retard. i know you left a pile of eggs some random place you asshole). the last taken was nilla. but nilla has a little brother that looks just like him almost.
on the plus side, ordered some more hens. should be here tomorrow.
laura palmer was sitting on eggs and uhh...
then she wasn't
this is a rat snake. laura palmer is safe n she just moved to another nesting box. relocated this snake elsewhere. another rat snake got one of the fake porcelain eggs meant for trying to encourage laying in the spot it's at.
anyway, she's still broody n she made mercury go broody too. i hope they both adopt the chicks when they arrive.
cheepus is a femcel loner. i love her
i harvested the bok choys n planted some fall crops that favor cooler weather (peas, winter choy)

i tried fostering them under mercury and they sorta investigated each other for about 5 minutes n considered making it work n then gave up...
here all the other chicks are under her n this one was off on the side like "you're not my real mom!"

still cleaning up the crops after the sciatic... issue

still some time for an onion batch, n since it's getting cooler out i put some peas at the back that haven't sprouted yet
went to check on the random cherry tomatoes i had found behind the house n as i walked up i saw one of the hens running off with one in her mouth...
i'm not even mad at her
