It was a good thing. @Likeicare and .wil set me straight. It's better to hit this speed bump this in the beginning. Also, linkermann is gone, so that alone is worth the slap fight.
I fucked up two things;
(1) not giving a shit about linekrmann's previous background despite being told by several people it would be a problem.
(2) reacting too quick on an informal takedown notice. It was 2 am, I saw this shit on my mobile and reacted rashly. The legal consequences of running a site and ignoring a DMCA request is obvious: look at Zaiger's case. Doesn't matter if it is an altered picture or the picture was publicly available. Having said that, properly filled out requests will be processed with more care, i.e. I will let the staff know ahead of time instead of jumping on it like MLK on a white prostitute.
I see this as an isolated instance, not likely to be repeated in the near future. It was an issue because of a faggot who took advantage of a previous conversation that DMCAs and CP would be censored.
Military shit was brought up by other people, and as a habit with all veterans (i.e. Groypher) we get carried away telling war stories. It may impact this site if I have to go back in, if the Supreme Court strikes the exceeding authorized access statute. But it is a year before that happens, and who knows what these motherless fucks will do to weasel out giving me back pay for 15 years. They have no problem calling someone back in after they retire, not so much when they fuck up.
