What work other then getting gulaged did you do

The marines wouldnt let me in because of one little puny marijuana conviction even tho i got a 90 on my asvab and my nigger recruiter creamed his pants and was like WE CAN WAIVER YOU IN

I was in for over four year before my CM. In that time:

1 Deployment to Pakistan*

1 Deployment to Kandahar*

2 Deployments to Djbouti Africa*

2 TDY's to Las Vegas (Red Flag)

2 TDY's to Fort Knox (Army)

*For SpecOps, our deployment were only 3 months at a time, unlike the rest of the military that did a year.

I was approved to cross-train for 3C0 (Computers). That got yanked. Interesting now it is no longer a career field. Instead it has been broken into 5 different ones.

The one I want, if I get back in, is 1b4 Cyber Warfare Operations. Heard it's a dope career.

Marines are actually very strict on that. The Army has the lowest standards.

90 on asvab....not sure how that was scored. Each branch actually scores ASVAB differently. For Example, I needed like a 110 (General Technical) for Army Warrant Officer (pilot).

In the Air Force I only had 70's-80's. Think a 91 in electrical. Anyway, found out that for the Army GT they add two Air Force scores up so I was actually qualified.

Yes, but we used the PC term "ragheads".

My job was weapons systems on MH53 Helicopters (retired in 2008). If you watched the first transformers movie it was the Helicopter in the first scene that transforms to blackout.

Gunner was a special duty for us. The only people that could be gunners was us, flight engineers, and PJs on H60s. In 2002 they took away Gunner from our duties and made it into a separate career. Later they merged with flight engineer. My main job was gun, chaff/flare loading, fuel auxiliary cart release, and testing those systems.

Other than shooting occasional, we also trained to do general maintenance on the helo. We also did weapons escort (did that twice, not fun because you sit on the plane while everyone else goes to a nice hotel). So it was a jack of all trades job.

If you work weapons on fighters/bombers, all you do is load bombs and missiles, repair bomb racks in the backshop. We did not differentiate, so a weapons guy on fighters could easily transfer to helos/gunships. This means we could be stationed on any base that had a weapons platform.

Crew chief would load chaff/flare instead of us on heavies (cargo planes).

The guns we used was the GAU-2 a/b mini-gun (6,000 shots per minute, limited to 2k - 4k) and .50 cal.

ASVAB doesn't mean shit. It's GT scores. If you want to go back in for a long time, finish out your twenty, then the army will retrain to a MOS that you want after you finish your first contract. I worked with Chem Weap specialists who's primary job was to catalog and inventory gasmasks and gasmask cans. They retrained to medic after they reached rank of sgt. There ASVAB scores were horrendous as well as their GT scores. Didn't know shit about med and couldn't care less. Many openly refused any sort of real medical assistance duty because they were "terrified of human fluids." Yeah. A E7 that won't work on a US service member because they have a blood phobia. Proof that once you're in you can go wherever you want.

How many did you smoke

In Africa they fired on us, I was on the ramp with a mini and the pilot turned so I could shoot. They ran back into their hut. Cut that fucker into two, the hut collapsed. Don't know how many were there but it's not like we go there and count.

Some dickheads would shoot deer/caribou for practice. A .50 cal round absolutely shreds the deer.

That was the only time I shot a hostile(s).

Does it keep you up at night knowing you took someones father away from them

Well, they were African so it's not like they were performing father duties.

Unlike the USA they don't put on a show about how a dead-beat was a loving Father.

So no, they could have killed us if that bullet hit the engine or our weakpoints.

That was a trick question they just would have gone out for newports and vanished anyway
...And a few years later I was working at fucking Target bagging groceries and getting yelled at by some bitch who couldn't find a sold-out WII.
I know these feels

yeah readjusting sucks.

Weird thing was people calling off. I was like WTF, how do you not show up to work?

In the military you have to be dead, in the hospital, or confined to quarters, which most people rather be at work then confined.

Are you telling me you didin't have Sick Call Rangers? I find that hard to believe. A third of my company went to sick call every run day. And magically they passed the PT test with minutes to spare. Hmm.

Not in my unit. Shaving waivers for blacks were the biggest problem.

We had this dude, Anderson who got put on quarters and got an LOR because one of our e7s saw him at JR Rockers (enlisted club). The Chow Hall and E club were the same distance to the dorms.

I got a car accident one time, section chief said "take tomorrow off". Woke up my ribs and sternum were sore. Got a phone call at 10am from e6 asshole wondering why I wasn't at work. Apparently he didn't care his boss told me to stay home.
