Honestly, what's the appeal with red. It's common with gun wannabes. Not criticizing, just want to know the appeal. I see other set ups with electric orange, neon yellow, electric blue, etc.
To me you guys want flash. Nah son. Go for "beat it to death proof." Internals are far more important than externals.
Honest opinion.
Buttstock
Daniel Defense buttstock.
Cool Factor 10. Practicality 8.
Since the bottom of the buttstock is rounded it tends to slip off your shoulder if placed too high. With an ACOG just the lower 1-2 inches are making contact. I wish there were longer buttstock pads because the ergonomics of the rifle just make it naturally sit higher in the shoulder pocket, unless you crane your head and force the cheekweld. Kind of uncomfortable but or course doable.
Lower receiver
Cool Factor 10. Practicality 2.
Generally you want an even opening that's flared for fool proof reloads under pressure. The weird geometry, while looks very cool doesn't lend well to reliable reloading actions.
Hand guard
Cool Factor 10. Practicality 10.
Looks like a Phase 5 handguard or one inspired by one. If so, they are beefy and rock solid. Little heavy but an extra 3-5 oz doesn't hurt on the barrel end of the rifle. Definitely like the choice of sling attachment points: one at the base of the barrel and one at the tip. Gives you the widest array of choices in choosing your sling and sling set up. Though the attachment point at the bottom of the handguard at the barrel tip is questionable. The only thing you would attach there is a bipod. And this looks to be a 15- 16 inch barrel set up - yeah I understand but real world - lol no. Not going to happen.
Muzzle brake
Cool Factor 10. Practicality 8.
Three port muzzle brake is not as effective as four port. Like the point, good for punching through glass and into the body if you ever get to hand to hand with the rifle. Not that an A2 birdcage flash hider won't hurt or stun, the point ensures that you're breaking skin, and possibly punching through the face or neck or other soft targets. Im not implying that this is a substitute for a bayonet, but if thrusted at the gut of an enemy with full force into soft tissue (gut, throat, face) yeah don't be surprised if it ends up stuck.
Trigger
Cool factor 10. Practicality 5.
The end of the trigger blade looks really delicate. You don't want any flex in the trigger blade/shoe. NONE. The trigger is something you cannot compromise on. It has to function the same every single time. No exceptions. And most of all has to FEEL the same EVERY SINGLE TIME.
Iron sights
Cool factor 8. Practicality 8.
Better if they were canted 45 degrees so you could mount a low rise optic.
Flip up is good but when are you NOT going to have the up when they are your only sighting option. (tried co-witness and that has to be dead on. 1/3 co-witness means if you're not thinking at 100 yards you're shooting over the bad guy's head, every time.
To be honest, it's the modern times, iron sights are a back up and meant for less than 75 yard engagement.
Fore grip
Cool factor 11. Practically 8-11.
This is strictly a personal preference. You lock a C- grip on that and the barrel is not moving. In reality it's all about personal preference. The only complaint, if there is one is the bottom is rounded so steadying the rifle on that grip on a wall or window sill will not be ideal. But is negated by training just for that. Extra thing to learn but doesn't really hurt you. Major positive since it's trim to the rifle it has less tendency to snag on stuff.
This is the one I most like
Each has it's pluses and minuses.
Vertidic.
Cool factor 10. Practicality solid 7.
The low end scores will have an accumulative fact when all assembled.
You basically built a really functionable "BBQ gun."
But internals was left out so no real evaluation could be assessed.
you have a good eye for what may work but needs refinement though actual practice. Since you live in a state that will strip you of your rights for the smallest reason, you're basically fucked. Sorry bro it was never meant to be like this. You literally can blame the jews and boomers for this. For they "got away with this very same thing."
Chin up.
