mercury hatched three over last weekend
since 2 were on easter, they are named peepus n cheepus

venus went missing last week but she was the only one... since then we have sporadically seen her in the yard
she went broody elsewhere n we found her nest

she's sitting on 22 fucking eggs... 22

i know they stockpile some before hatching them in the wild. i'm curious to try candling them here in a day or two? i don't know how she's gonna treat them either. or how far along they are. she's my most skittish hen n also periodically would sleep in my neighbor's tree like a rugged individualist
i'm gonna have to relocate mercury and her children out of the quarantine coop i guess

i went out to close the big coop tonight n artemis was sitting on one of the ceramic eggs meant to try to encourage the chickens to lay in the coop
i haven't seen an egg from misfit in a while either so now i'm suspecting she's doing the same thing

i guess i run a chicken hatchery now
 
there was a big storm and something snuck up on venus. couple of her tail feathers were pulled out n most of her eggs got eaten
this is why rugged individualism doesn't work you just stockpile supplies for the nearest retard brute

if she tries this retarded shit again i am going to try relocating her in the grey coop mercury is currently in. in the meantime i dunno when whatever tried to snatch her dumb ass did so, but examining the scene i found 3 un-eaten eggs i have put into the incubator

i hope this teaches her to just go broody in the damn coop

i'm trying to train the local crows to run hawk defense... i have seen them out in the yard right after i filled the bird feeders, hanging out with laura palmer and dale pooper. eating sunflower seeds n stuff together. i gotta start taking bird feeder pics they are swarmin' the feeders this year it's delightful

in the meantime, i am better at hatching venus egg than venus herself

I pray that God watches over you and your chicken family. No one should have to live in constant fear.
 
while the vast majority of pics this year have been chicken-based, i have had pumpkins, corn, the second batch of bok choy, and some sunflowers sprout. the onions are doing well, and some of potatoes are ready to be harvested so i'll be planting some sweet potato where those ones were growing
